RFID Hacking

This summer, I did something super cool! I learned how to copy electronic keys, like the ones we use to open doors. It's like being a little bit of a detective and a scientist at the same time!

First, I found out that these keys come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. It's like they have their own personalities! Each key has a tiny chip and an antenna inside it. The chip is like the brain of the key. Some chips are low frequency, which means they are kind of old and easier to copy. The high frequency ones are like the new, tough kids on the block, harder to copy.

I tried copying my front door key and some other keys we use at home. It was like making a twin for each key! Then, I did something super awesome – I copied the key to the swimming pool onto a ring. Now, I feel like a secret agent with a magic ring that can open the pool door!

Some keys are really tricky to copy, but others are just a piece of cake. I learned that the older keys are usually the easy ones. It's fun to see how these keys talk to the door to open it. They don't make any sound or anything; they just need to be close to the door, and it's like they whisper to each other, and then, click, the door opens!

Copying keys made my summer super exciting. It's like having a special power to make keys that can open doors. But, I also learned that we have to be careful with this power, because keys keep our houses safe. It's important to only copy keys when we really need to, like for our family or in an emergency.

So, that's what I did this summer! I became a key-making wizard, and it was one of the coolest things ever!
